First let me explain that my percents will not add up. At fifteen I had the thought that the highs and lows in my life were too extreme to both belong to the same person, so I will express the "shattering" effect of those highs and lows by breaking the 100% mark.
Before 18 years of age: 75% misery, 60% anxiety and 55% painful. 25-100% wonderful in short bursts of an hour or a day.
18-30 A see-saw of horror and fun. Sometimes indistinguishable from each other. A great time to develop my dark sense of humor. 85% terrible.
30-42 slowly improving from mental chaos to order but culminating in catatonic depression at 40. 50-50 with a bad bit near the end.
42 - 55 Best years of my life. Misery at under 20% of the time and getting better year by year.
If you figure the first five or six years don't count, I'd say it adds up to 50-50. But I am glad the worst is further back and the best is more now.
