How should I kill a praying mantis?
Yes, yes, I know. "They're such wonderful creatures!" Some of you are shouting in vain at your monitors. "They're helpful! Killing anything is wrong!"
I don't care. There is a praying mantis on my porch. It attacked my dog the other day and now she's afraid to go outside. I'm not letting an insect bully any of my family members, human or otherwise.
I'm asking because I want the most humane way to kill it. I don't want to gas it with bug spray for an hour as it suffocates, but it's a good 7 inches long so I also don't want to step on it. Could I challenge it to a duel for my dog's honor I would, but I don't think it can hold a sword. Honor in war and such.
Don't tell me it's illegal, it's not. I'm not going to capture the little bugger and waste my time relocating it. She's a jerk. Don't tell me to let her go away, she's been here for a week, and probably laid a nest of future jerks. Oh well.
