Sig p220 or p227 or m1911(non sig)?

Which is better in terms of reliability. Does anyone own any of these? Or heard of malfunctions associated with these.

Any input appreciated!!

I'm a big Colt 1911 fan as all here know. Have had loads of them, I would kinda like to try a BIG Sig. .40 or .45ACP.

However, My long experience with my Colts ( since 1975 ) the confidence, that they eat anything I stick in them, rarely jam, which can easily be fixed so it just does not happen, unless you cause it by limp wristing. I have had one even function with some terrible surplus ammo that would fire, but, hit the ground 40 feet ahead of you, but, the gun still ate them and spit them out without fail. Kind of unnerving when I was shooting 25 yards, and the darn bullets would not even reach the target but, on the bounce.

Both are a VERY good choices, Sig or Colt, or you may choose a 1911 clone, but, these are all what I would say, since this is an "opinion" question, a " can't go wrong " choice. But, I have Colts. There just is no bad choice there, sir.

They are effectively all the same in terms of reliability (especially if you don't say which brand of 1911). For all practical purposes modern handguns from name brand companies are reliable. I have several pistols and the only failures I have ever had (and they are like 1 out of 1000 rounds) are due to ammo, not the gun. I have a Sig P229.

I just can not imagine anyone struggling with the difference between a SA/DA Sig 220-229 vs a S/A 1911?
The only real difference in the 220 vs the 227 is grip thickness- single stack vs double stack, & capacity.

If you intend to carry- then the 1911 will have to be carried either c0cked and locked, or you will have to c0ck it before you can shoot it. With the 220/227 you just pull the trigger.
