drinking on an airplane?
I am flying from JFK airport to New Delhi. If I buy a 6 pack of beer in the duty free shop past security in JFK airport, can I drink the 6 pack on the plane ride to new Delhi?

Unlike what conley39 tells you -
You can drink the beers you have with you -
However THEY MUST BE SERVED TO YOU BY THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT -
So, give the beer bottle to a flight attendant -
Then ask him/her to serve it to you -
Federal Aviation Regulations - Alcoholic beverages - FAR 121.575 (a) -

Of course, you probably prefer "warm beer" like in India -
I remember the "room temperature beer" served in Mumbai and Delhi -
Personally, I prefer cold beer from the airplane supply kept on ice -

Skipper knows the rules. Flight attendants should know that rule as well, and should serve you your beer unless you look like or you act as if you are drunk -

No, you cannot. You can't drink alcohol that you brought onto the plane.

skipper747 makes an interesting point but I dont know if you would be successful in persuading the cabin crew to do that for you.
