private practice to which I'm been taking dog for YEARS - and this is not first time
you can't even schedule till you sceduled and HAD done pespay physical (physical 3-4 months before in other context doesn't count), scanning for microchip required (better have proof its registered to you)
not first time I've gone through this even have a dog who DIED because they delayed 2 months in situation requiring urgency

That is ridiculous.. and they are making money anyway with all this pre-spay op check and everything.

Never heard of anything like this before at all and I'd be looking for somewhere else.

Then why are you using that vet clinic? Schedule a spay with another clinic. They do them for people without making someone wait months. You can also contact the local shelter or animal control and ask where to take a dog for a fast gravid spay.

I am sure there is more then one vet in you area.
Call around and ask for advice, getting a dog spayed shouldn't be so hard.

It can take months if you are trying to use a free or low cost clinic.
But it does not take that long to book a spay with a vet.

BS! Plenty of other vets around, stop being lazy and look for another vet.
