Is this a scam or nah?
Hi, so I use OkCupid and a couple days ago I started talking to a girl on there and got her private email address. We planned on meeting up the same day, but she said I needed to fill out "dating arrangements" first. I asked her what that meant and she said that it's a way for her to feel more safe when meeting new people online and that it would contact the authorities if anything happened to her. Perfectly understandable and I was happy to go along with it.
She gave me the instructions on how to fill it out and she said that I need to sign up with hookup.com and get a 1 month gold membership, which is 30 bucks normally, but she said it is free and that after I put in my credit card info it would redirect to a second screen where I could check VERFIY ONLY and not get charged.
Now I am skeptical about this cuz it all doesn't seem to make much sense and of course I have to put in my card info with no confirmation that I really won't be charged. She responded like a normal person and didn't seem like a bot for the site at all. Also she has a google plus account with friends so I'm pretty sure she's real. Of course she could be on the payroll for the site. And that's what I need your opinion on. Does this sound like a scam, or could it really be legitimate? Has this thing happened before and been proven to be a scam? Thanks!
Though I'm almost certainly convinced it's a scam, I thought i'd add the fact that she said that the card info is for "citizenship verification only."
