How to take good notes from a textbook? We can use them on a test so please help.?

Im taking a political science class in college and my teacher is letting us use the notes we take from the book on each test we have. My question is what should i focus on? Should i just jot down the chapters summary at the end of each chapter?

Good question.  One must ask why a prof would allow this.

You would be wise to copy down the definition of each political term in the chapter.  Then you will have the ability to explain or apply each concept, be it in Q&A or essay form.
