URGENT: Dog wound cause?

I have an old dog.

I took her to the vet this morning and the vet has said that she can't get a proper look at it without anesthetic, which she doesn't want to use due to my little girl being 12 years of age.

Does anyone know what the cause of this wound could be or what it looks like? They are bleeding lumps with dark colouring.

She has been put on a 14 day antibiotic and I would like to know whether this should be enough to sort it out?

Can't afford multiple visits to the vet and I'm just a bit worried that she didn't check it well enough.

That sounds awful. The antibiotics will help prevent infection of the wound. It won't necessarily treat the cause. I'm sorry, but there is no way for us to know what the wound was caused by. Lots of dogs get lumps. It could be nothing, or anything from cysts, to fatty tumors, to insects, to cancer. Really there's no way to tell, I'm sorry. If you're worried about vet costs, there are options for you. Call around Vet offices in the area and explain your situation. They may offer to take payments on their treatment, or they may be able to refer you to a rescue organization that can help. They may even offer to treat the dog for a reduced cost.
Edit: I looked at your picture and my best guess is your dog bit on something to cause that. It could have come from a damaged or infected tooth. I'm no vet so I really can only guess. Good luck with your pup.

I did attach a picture here but it didn't post - frustrating. Here it is though I don't know if any of you will check this post again.
