Does weight watchers work? **PLEASE READ DETAILS**?

I used to be a relatively healthy guy. 3 Years ago when I was 17 I was 5'11 and weighed a little over 210 pounds. But my grandfather died in 2013 and I was really close to him. I binge ate for a good couple months and now in 2015 I am almost 290 pounds. I was doing some research on signing up for Weight Watchers and while I have my doubts, from what I've seen it seems like it works.

Is it just the eating right that is losing the weight? I know I've gotta do some exercise, but I have both extremely flat feet and a minor heart condition that make exercise a literal pain for me. But yea, what I'm asking is does weight watchers really work? It says you can lose 1 to 2 pounds per week, which I know I'm capable of because I did it in high school getting ready for baseball.

I tried it when I was very young ( like 13) and it didn't work for me, but I think thats because I was a child and they were giving me too many points to eat everyday. I mean, it's gotta work for the really dedicated people, otherwise they'd be out of business I guess. I did however love the way the program was set up, it was very easy to follow. My recommendation to you though is to make sure you use your allowed daily points on healthy food. They also have a wide variety of sweet stuff if you need something like that too. I would definatly try it, the people there motivate you so much in a great way. Also, for excersize, I would take up swimming at your local ymca, gym, or open swim at the nearest highschool. It is not hard on your body at all but u burn a **** ton of calories just swimmin around. Swimming is like the next best thing to running. Anyway good luck in your weightloss mission you can do it : )
