Songs about Canadian identity as a country/people?

What are some folk or modern songs that are about Canada from our geography, people, history, and overall country? I also don't want it to be the stereotypical "EH, maple syrup, poutine" stuff...

The best one I know was a patriotic song I heard recorded back in 1975 by Roger Whittaker, called "Canada Is". (Oddly enough, Roger was born in Kenya). Canadian Michael Mitchell has also recorded it.

But you also will see the Canadian identity in many of the different songs by Canadian artists.

Tom Cochrane released a song called "Big League", that talks about a young kids dream of growing up to play in the NHL, only to be killed in a car accident before his dream could be realized.

The Tragically Hip recorded several songs about the Canadian identity.

You just need to listen to a few Canadian artists and you will hear references to Canada in their works.
