Don't people feel inhuman to study Science instead of studying society and Social sciences?
I was interested in Science all my life until recently, I felt Science to be inhuman and selfish. Even study of psychology, to me, is selfish. Don't we have to first change this world, which can be done by understanding the society, which can be done by studying sociology. Isn't studying molecules and other physical things inhuman? Why shouldn't we try to make our world better by understanding it and changing it by Sociology?

Science is the study of the natural world. Social science is the study of humans. The study of the natural world leads to advancements in society that help in many ways: food production, water quality, medicine, sanitary waste disposal, transportation, education, etc. None of which would be possible if the focus was only on social ills. The study of Sociology does not lead to any better society in any fashion. Sociology is an exercise in theory and opinion, offering no solutions. The problems that plague society are a result of human nature and have existed since man has existed.
Without science everyone would be dead from plagues, diseases and viruses. There would be no new life saving surgeries. If you compare that to sociology suddenly your view seems like the more selfish one.
