The list could go on endlessly so I'll just make it easier for you. The more your food is processed, the more likely it is going to be fattening. Now yes, natural foods that contain sugars, fats, and protein also can be quite fatty, but at least they fill you up (meaning that you will eat less later throughout the day). However candy bars or potato chips in plastic bags can only get you through two or three hours without feeling hungry once again. So basically eat whole foods in normal quantities and you'll be fine

Processed , fake food. Real food with good fats are good for you. Your body doesn't recognize what you are eating when you eat processed food because it is not natural and so it could store that as fat but if you eat for example a banana, that's natural, your body will recognize it and it will digest out of your body normally.

"Our bodies are designed to eat saturated fat, and we have been doing so for thousands of years. In fact, it has been proven that the strong link to heart disease is sugar; not saturated fat. The food industry has actually caused more disease by naming fat as the culprit and advocating “low-fat” boxed products that are loaded with sugar.
And, saturated fat can’t make you fat. It is physiologically impossible. Guess what farmers feed cows to fatten them up? Low-fat grain. What does make you fat? Anything that produces insulin. What produces a lot of insulin? Carbohydrates (that is, low-fat grain and sugars). We are designed to eat carbohydrates in the form of vegetables, fruits, and a small amount of grain. In today’s society, we eat too many carbohydrates, and this is what causes weight gain and obesity."

Anything can "make you fat" if you eat to much of it (even healthy foods). High on the list though are things like junk food, fast food, sugary foods, fried/greasy foods, and things that have little to no nutritional value, but packed full of calories.
