My cats claws get dirty and stuck?

I have 4 cats, all have their claws. One of them always gets this hard stuff on a couple of the nails on his front paw, so the nail doesn't retract. When he stretches, plays, etc it always gets stuck. Why does he have this problem? I clean it off when I see it but I want to know why he gets it.

Cats can get fungal infections of the nail bed. Best to mention it to the vet when he goes in for his yearly check up, or sooner. Trim the claw more often, keeping it a short as possible in the meantime.

It might be because of how those claws naturally curve, or it could be sign that they need to be trimmed more often. you might try the claw caps, some cats really like them some don't.
