Since my most recent pair of headphones just broke, I m trying to figure out what new pair I should buy. You don t have to pick between the two in the question, but does anyone have suggestions of a good durable pair?

NEITHER of those, because ALL Beats & Monsters are massively overhyped and overpriced FASHION TOYS marketed VERY aggressively for gullible people who either DO NOT CARE or do NOT KNOW a single thing about PROPER audio quality!
REPUTABLE manufacturers such as Sennheiser, Shure, Grado, Denon, AKG, Bowers & Wilkins, Bang & Olufsen, Etymotic, Beyerdynamic and Audio-Technica have ALL been around for DECADES so they KNOW what PROPER audio quality is all about! Therefore, they do NOT need any lousy rappers nor other celebrity wannabes to boost their sales.

Beats are junk. - jewelry, not very good earphones really. pull em apart, they got a 2 dollar driver in em. Anything that pokes in your ear is going to be not so good, at best okay. Wouldn't waste more than 20 on anything like that, anything over just goes in the till, not the product. Only so much tech you can poke in your ear. Look at earphones -real ones, for that. See a lot of earbuds in recording studios, radio stations, such like? Why do you suppose that is?
