What is it like to have a hyphenated last name?

For those of you with hyphenated last names, has it caused you any problems? I've been considering hyphenating mine, but I'm afraid it is going to be a bureaucratic nightmare. Considering the amount of bureaucracy I already deal with in my daily life, I'm afraid to take the step.

As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing more goofy than a hyphenated last name.  What's the point?  Nobody likes having to spit out 10 syllables to say your last name.  And what will your kids do, tack on a third name at some point?  Really, the whole business is feminist goofiness.
