Belly Button Piercing?

I've wanted to get my belly button pierced for a while now, how can I convince my mom to let me get it? I'll be 18 in a few months, but I want to have my parents approval and not just get it done behind their backs. It took FOREVER for me to convince my mom to let me get just a standard ear piercing , but she's not budging on the belly button piercing. I'm very responsible and I'll be able to pay for it myself. How can I convince her to let me get it?

My parents only let me when I promises not to get any tattoos or facial piercings until I was out of Med School. They also said if it got infected or anything it would be my problem to deal with and I couldn't complain to them.
