What could be wrong with my freezer chest?
The air is minus 18 degrees and the ice is frozen in the trays. Yet the meat is thawed out and a puddle of water is in the bottom of the chest.

Feel the sides of the freezer. If something is warm then it's time for a new one. The motor could be overheating and that could lead to a fire hazard.

it defrosted for some reason and is now freezing again!! meat is packed so tightly that it isn't freezing.
