What goes good with Sliced Tomatoes?

I want to make a dinner with Sliced Tomatoes and/or Sliced Tomatoes and Cucumbers as my side. My mind went blank on what to have with it. I was thinking about pork chops. But I am craving some Tomatoes and Cucumbers.

I love a tomato-cucumber salad with feta, Spanish onion, cilantro and a bit of cumin and olive oil. Add garlic if you like. This is a very common Middle Eastern / Mediterranean dish. It goes well with just about anything in my opinion.

If you want to do the whole Mediterranean thing, consider making Kefta. They're just little meatball type things (depending on what shape you choose) that you can bake, pan-fry or grill. Just google Kefta and you will find a ton of recipes. Any combo of ground meat works but beef and/or lamb is most common. They're super easy and if you're in a food rut, it will seem like something new without needing any extra skills or special ingredients.

You can make a great side dish called a veggie plate, with sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, celery sticks, carrot sticks, sliced green bell peppers, sliced radishes, broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, even sliced raw zucchini. Add a dish of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing alongside your plate of veggies as a dip. This could go well with a hamburger (or just hamburger patty if you want to go low carb for your paleo diet friends). If you have a diabetic in your group, they will love you for providing a low-carb meal like this.

Hi Lavada! That’s indeed a pretty healthy option and I do encourage you to have tomatoes and cucumber more often. However, since you are having it as a side, you can basically have anything consistent enough with it. Pork chops wouldn’t be bad at all, but you can also opt for chicken, lamb or any other source of protein.

Anything you like. I used to go to a friend's house as a kid for dinner, and her mother always had a big plate of sliced tomatoes on the table. Sometimes I make a plate of sliced cucumbers as a side for my bf, because he loves them. If you like, have some dressing with it for dipping.

Tomato and cucumber sandwiches with mayo and some salt and pepper are amazing.
Or you can have a cold pasta salad with cucumber and tomato, just cook your noodles and rinse them in cold water for a minute and mix with your choice of salad dressing or olive oil. You could even make tuna melts with a slice of tomato on top.
