I have a Dell Inspiron 15 with a touch screen running Win 8.1. Sometimes without warning the mouse pointer just disappears and I can't get it to reappear. Its clear that the track pad is still working as I can see random parts of the window hilight as I move round the track pad. Sometimes stepping out of the program to the desktop will cause the pointer to reappear but not always.
Also, sometimes, the pointer doesn't appear but the trackpad does seem to go dead. In both instances, the touch screen still seems to work correctly.
Has anyone else exerienced this and know of a fix or simple workaround?
