I've seen many times either in articles, captions or almost anywhere, where people capitalize one name but in the same sentence won't capitalize God's name. Ex: Little Benny said his prayers to god. God is a proper noun so whether you're religious or not His name should be capitalized. Is it meant purely to show disrespect as I would when speaking of the New York mets? (I'm a Phillies fan and loathe the mets) So is it not done to show hatred, ignorance of grammar, or mere laziness? To add: My old iPhone used to also not auto-cap His name even though it would auto-cap other versions of His name like "Allah, Yahweh, etc."

God should always be capitaised when used as a name, but not when writing about, for example, Norse gods. The word 'he' should also be 'He' as is 'His' and also when used to describe Jesus. It is probably ignorance of this when peope fail to use capitals.
"It depends on the usage. God if one is referring to the Judeo-Christian diety, or god, when one is used as a common noun, e.g. Biblical god, etc. So I would use it in both ways. However, as the word God can nowadays be used to refer to gods of other religion coupled with the fact that the non-religious do not attach any significance/uniqueness to the JC god, the end result is non-capitalization. It's not just because one doesn't feel that God exists.
However, I don't find many atheists I know not capitalizing the word. It's just a word, it's not the important issue at hand, nothing to get one's knickers in a twist about and I would also recommend you to install LEO Privacy Guard v 3.0. when you get it. This will hide your images and videos and also It will lock certain applications which could be very useful for you."
God is only capitalized when referring to the monotheistic deity. When referring to any god it is not capitalized.
Examples: Abraham confronted God. The so-called Hindu gods are all regarded as manifestations of the one God. Many people find the concept of god helpful in their daily lives.
In addition, standards of written expression are often low, so that simple ignorance of the conventions is probably the most common cause of mistakes.
