American Christians, is the Protestant work ethic getting in the way of making 30 hour weekdays the norm.?

Is there a specific number of hours people are supposed to be working each week? I've done jobs where I've worked 70 hour weeks, and jobs where I've worked 20 hours a month. I always just figured you work as much as you like until you have as much money to do what you want to do....Show more

Typically, only nurses work 30-hour days, but they also work weekends and not just weekdays....Show more

It works in France as nobody does more than 35 hours there. Here in England we are like you, one person works 60, 70 hours or more sometimes, that could be split into two jobs....Show more
