do you think the government should allow many Syrian refugees into our country without having the proper screening?

you are saying they are properly screened, but not in Canada, as our government has promised to bring in 25,000 before Christmas. Impossible to screen that amount in such a short a time, for diseases, if sympathetic to Isis or really want to adapt to the American or canadian ways.

Of course not! But that isn't what is happening. Refugees are more closely vetted that anyone who comes to the US. First, they are identified and registered abroad where information is taken by the UN Refugee Agency. Then before they can be settled they are interviewed one-on-one by a trained Department of Homeland security officer. Then a barrage of checks are conducted by US Intelligence Agency, by the FBI, by the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security. They are really so incredibly vetted that they present no risk to this country. These are vulnerable refugee families who have been identified specifically to be re-settled to the United States. The U.S. is essentially hand-picking these people and vetting them through a very very careful process.” ~ Eleanor Acer, Senior Director of Refugee Protection, Human Rights First

Here is an article that explains how they're vetted:

No they shouldn't...and luckily for all of us, they ARE getting properly screened.

You do know the UNHCR has had these people in refugee camps for up to 4 years now right? And in that time, they have been screened TWICE and are continued to be monitored. IF those families are chosen, their files go to Homeland and NSA and they (and any other agency that wants a crack at it) screen them against their databases etc.

So...how much more screening would you like? Or do you not trust the UNHCR, Homeland, NSA, etc? When is enough enough for you?

Syrian refugees are subject to almost 2 years of screening. I would cut that to under 3 months. That would greatly undermine Daesh's anti-American narrative, and make it harder for them to recruit.

Refugees of any kind go through a 18 to 24 month vetting process.
Multiple background checks, and interviews.
And all before they are even allowed into the US.
