do you think the government should allow many Syrian refugees into our country without having the proper screening?

Update:

you are saying they are properly screened, but not in Canada, as our government has promised to bring in 25,000 before Christmas. Impossible to screen that amount in such a short a time, for diseases, if sympathetic to Isis or really want to adapt to the American or canadian ways.

Of course not! But that isn't what is happening. Refugees are more closely vetted that anyone who comes to the US. First, they are identified and registered abroad where information is taken by the UN Refugee Agency. Then before they can be settled they are interviewed one-on-one by a trained Department of Homeland security officer. Then a barrage of checks are conducted by US Intelligence Agency, by the FBI, by the Department of Defense, and the Department of Homeland Security. They are really so incredibly vetted that they present no risk to this country. These are vulnerable refugee families who have been identified specifically to be re-settled to the United States. The U.S. is essentially hand-picking these people and vetting them through a very very careful process.” ~ Eleanor Acer, Senior Director of Refugee Protection, Human Rights First

Here is an article that explains how they're vetted:

No they shouldn't...and luckily for all of us, they ARE getting properly screened.

You do know the UNHCR has had these people in refugee camps for up to 4 years now right? And in that time, they have been screened TWICE and are continued to be monitored. IF those families are chosen, their files go to Homeland and NSA and they (and any other agency that wants a crack at it) screen them against their databases etc.

So...how much more screening would you like? Or do you not trust the UNHCR, Homeland, NSA, etc? When is enough enough for you?

Syrian refugees are subject to almost 2 years of screening. I would cut that to under 3 months. That would greatly undermine Daesh's anti-American narrative, and make it harder for them to recruit.

Refugees of any kind go through a 18 to 24 month vetting process.

    Multiple background checks, and interviews.

And all before they are even allowed into the US.

  • Islamist Control is actually looking at the people with motives to pull the trigger on an inanimate object that can be used by nefarious jihadists intent on killing people in masses. If not Guns they use gas, bombs, & swords beheading of Journalist, Coptic Egyptians, & captured soldiers, prisoners are meaningless to them.

If Guns is the problem, then Alcohol & Drugs are also a problem since Alcohol & Drug Control aren't stopping people from driving under their influence killing innocent people.

Murder, Rape, Robbery, Theft & Fraud control laws doesn't stop people from committing such crimes do they & these are laws that have been in the books since ancient times. It's time to recognize that corrupt people are dangerous.

    Of course not.

The problem is, we don't have a database for these refugees as we did with Iraq because we worked with that government. We can't figure out who they are and what they did. There will always been the inevitable wolves in sheep's clothing.

If they can managed to get here and screened through properly, then I don't see much of a problem. A majority of this country's population was refugees themselves. They all went through portals to this country, mine through Ellis Island. There they were checked for any aliments and to make sure they were who they said they were.

I don't see why Syrian refugees would be any different or exempt from this process.

Source(s): Of course you have these cuckolds that thumb me down because I hurt their feelings previously. I take their thumbs down as silent agreement on their behalf because they're too cowardly to talk to me.

I am not against refugees, who are sincere in trying to improve their lot, but some of the migrants are well abled bodied man, able to work, and why are they not fighting for their own country instead of bringing it on our doorstep. the idea of 25,000 improperly screened refugees frightens me, when I see what is happening in Germany and Sweden.

A survey of American Muslims revealed that between 10% and 20% believe terrorist attacks are justified against the west.

We are not looking for a needle in a haystack here. One out of ten thinks killing you is justified.

    Why let any Muslims in?

    Donald Trump is right.

ALL the terrorists who ever entered our country legally were first VETTED when they applied for their visas or applied for citizenship... they 'vetted' Dylan Roof before he bought a gun when he was not allowed to as well... chew on these facts.
