What Could Be A Plausible Kryptonite for Death?

The character in my story is a Reaper AKA he's Death. One of his abilities is teleportation. This gets me in trouble because at some point a family of monster hunters tries to take him down, but it's hard to catch a teleporter. Vampire venom can kill him, but I need something that can knock out his powers temporarily without killing him. Any ideas?

Usually with those kinds of characters something simple, such as water, light or a certain sound cause a reaction, such as death or, in your case, a loss of power.

Another scenario: He's able to give his powers to someone else. Maybe they are contained in an object he holds or wears. And he is tricked into giving it to someone or setting it down.
