Why do religious people fear death so much and choose to believe in fairy-tales that aren't even plausible?

Indoctrination is not possible unless you create fear in a human. Once you ensure the person is motivated by fear, it's easy to control the person. Death is just one of a number of things religious people fear, mainly because they believe they're all sinners and none of them are sure that they'll get to escape the devil's 7-pronged penis.

Because no one wants to believe that 'absolutely nothing' happens after we die. But it doesn't really mean that we don't believe in God. We put our trust into believing on god and we promised to keep believing in god until the very end.

    It's called brainwashing.

There's a movie on Netflix called Waiting for Armageddon

I watched it last night, and it's truly shocking how these "love your neighbor as yourself" "Christians", are not only excited about, but can't wait for the destruction and doom of non believers. They'll be taken in the clouds and the rest of the world will be killed by the sword

You should watch it, it's quite sickening.

Philosopher Epicurus would say,"Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist."

Source(s): I couldn't care less about hell, unless I were dead.

I don't fear death at all and I certainly am not swayed by the words of a simple agitator.

On the contrary, I don't fear death, and don't believe in fairy tales. I know God.

Most religious people are indoctrinated into their faith as young children. It becomes such a part of their identity that logic and rationale get suppressed when it comes to anything related to their religion.

    Weak-minded is why they believe.
