Since you don't want any of the ones you may actually be able to find in that range, you should probably save the sports/muscle car until you can pay more. Instead get the best, most solid, well maintained car you can find, preferably one with a manual transmission, take care of it and learn to drive it well. Budget in for good tires and maintenance, maybe take a performance driving class. A good driver can get a lot more fun (and performance) out of something like an old Civic or Protege than an average or poor driver will get out of a Corvette or Porsche.

Go dream. Cars inside your budget are all more show than go.

buy a copy of "" HEMMINGS MOTOR NEWS "" this is a book that lists cars that are for sale and often it is the car that you seek .... === I must add that you need to go to the car and inspect and drive and check the title then pay .... do not pay and expect the car to be shipped to you ---- there are many tricksters out there and they will take your money and move on ,,, leaving you without the money or a car .... just want to to be aware ... the internet and craigslist are the worst ...
