Although I am not a Star Wars fan, i DO love Yoda. Wise he be,old, he is. :)

Lucas has never said anything regarding Yoda's origin or species. Someone wrote a Star Wars book about Yoda's planet but Lucas ordered that the book wasn't printed http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Yoda
