We're supposed to have 4 days of heavy rain starting today. I'm new to running but already starting to make progress so don't want to take a break but don't relish the thought of getting soaked either just to run a few miles. What would you do?

I'm in Alaska so it's rather cool, about 55-65 when it's raining. Wearing a rain coat gets too hot, but without it the rain is cold.

I run in the rain and in the cold but not in the cold rain, I will run anytime as long as it is not lightening. when running especially in the summer it is good to run in the rain as it is cooler than normal
you can I would say it's possible to get sick though if you run in the rain. it sometimes not save to rain outside when it's raining. but, fun to run on rain because your body cooled down more. when there is more moisture in the air for you to breath in and cooler weather to body to cool down. but when you run make sure you only breathe through your nose when it cool weather outside. or breathing with the mouth you will get sick. and harm your throat because of cold air and when also when it's raining.
If you can access a treadmill, these are actually great for training on although expect to work up a sweat that has similar levels to running outside in the rain!!
