Do you think that our present society is ready for a UFO disclosure?

2016-07-17T19:03:56Z

How do you feel that our present society would react'; and, how would you react.

2016-07-17T19:29:59Z

Ok Bill, you keep believing that if it is comfortable for you; however, you didn't answer the question.

This is a Hypothetical question, ok?

I would like too let you know, that, they are no longer UFO's to me; as can identify them. I can tell the difference between a Probe, a Scout ship and a Observation Platform. Maybe I should have used the term NHBE, ( Nonhuman Biological Entities). For those that think that this is just all Hollywood trickery and it is all fake; then, the office responsible for nondisclosure has done its job.

A few more days for this. Really hard to choose a best answer as I enjoyed all. I am going too see if there will be anymore input before.

Most all of you should be picked for BA; however, I am going to give it to Who out of an empathy that I can relate to. I thank you all for some very interesting and insightful input. Special thanks to Mr Int' for your insightful input.
Everyone look to the Middle East on September 18th; then, we shall see, or not too see; and, that will be the question.

Over ready. Hollywood and UFO fans have been disclosing it since 1947. Some even claim they've been abducted by aliens. Our society is not just ready but obsessed with UFO. The Ancient Alien guy with a funny hairdo. It's incredible they keep playing this crap on cable TV and equally incredible that people keep on watching it

The UFO fans would be disappointed if the government discloses it because that would take out all the fun in their conspiracy theories and their secret knowledge of aliens. I would be relieved the Ancient Alien show will finally end hopefully

This is sort of a loaded question, because your phrasing indicates that the government is hiding something concerning UFOs that would startle the general public if revealed.

To answer your question the best I can, first I should state that there is zero evidence that any UFO is a vehicle or device originating from extraterrestrial civilizations. It's just not there.

Second, we can consider that contact with extraterrestrial intelligence is made. Based on our technology, the most likely scenario of such contact is through radio signals sent through space.

The US government actually cut all government funding for SETI (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) in the 1980s. Congress figured it's a waste of money. All SETI efforts are now conducted through private funding.

Let us consider the hypothetical discovery of Aliens. Who will know first? NASA? A radio observatory owned by a university? The new Chinese radio observatory? These efforts are international.

Fictional scenario: The S---- Radio Observatory in Canberra Australia, established in 2031, operated by the M--- University, detects a signal from 1500 light years away and believes it is a transmission by an Alien civilization. Who do they first contact regarding their supposed discovery? You better believe there will be a lot of scientific controversy over it. Some might even say it's a fake. Is a message deciphered? What does it say? For one thing, we would certainly monitor and record signals from the source. But it's an awfully distant long-distance call. We send out our own signals, and hope that 3000 years later (after they transmitted that signal) they are receiving signals. That's the same distance in time as we are from the Ancient Egyptians- Rome wouldn't exist yet. That's how long each of us would have to wait for an answer from the other.

If Alien signals are detected, it might be anti-climactic. People would probably get bored with it, unless the signals were deciphered and told us the history of their civilization as it unfolded- and maybe even destroyed itself, or is destroyed by natural circumstances. They might switch technology (like our switch from binary to analog), and then we'd be in the dark.

It's been 69 years since Roswell. The surge in UFO popularity really spiked back in the 90's which helped with the release of the TV series X-Files and the heightened popularity with the premier of Star Trek: The Next Generation and segments from Unsolved Mysteries.

However with priorities shifting away from space travel, Star Trek isn't dominating tv right now, Unsolved Mysteries no longer on (especially with Robert Stack dead), and Roswell no longer peaking anyone's interest, I would say we are less ready for disclosure than we were 20 years ago.

By the way, PHYSICAL evidence from an investigation over 10 years ago verified it was anything BUT a weather balloon and showing to verify it was extraterrestrial. And REAL scientists and REAL theoretical phycisists says the light barrier can be bypasses with such REAL research on wormholes and warp drive.

Disclosures have been going on for half a century. The government keeps disclosing that ufos are nothing more than shortcomings of perception, knowledge and personal integrity. Do you really need more than that?

And society is more than ready for these disclosures. In fact evidence suggests that the public is actually getting tired of the continuing farce known as ufos. The never ending farce of fakery, lies and gaudy graphics that just goes nowhere.

Cheers!

I think society is ready. I had an experience with a UFO and a military helicopter that left no doubt in my mind the UFO phenomena is real, and after a few days of shock and awe I returned to my normal old self. If I can handle it anyone can.
