Rabbit's nails?

Okay so my rabbit lives in my bedroom with me and has free range of the room. He's always been extremely stubborn and doesn't like to be held. I don't really mind because that's just how he is; however, I have no idea what to do about his nails. He doesn't even like to be touched half of the time, let alone let me touch his feet. But his nails are getting so long and I can tell when he's hopping around that his nails bother him. And you're supposed to keep them trimmed anyways. I know exactly how to do it as I trim my dogs and Guinea pigs. However, my rabbit is sooooo stubborn. I tried wrapping him in a blanket to calm him down, I tried doing it while he was sleeping, I even tried having someone else trim while he relaxed as I pet him. I just don't know. So this is probably a dumb question but I was wondering if you could give a rabbit medicine to calm them for a minute whilst trimming?? If so what kind and how much?? Thank you.

No medicine. You have a few other options. If you don't want to do it yourself, a local rabbit rescue will usually do it for free or for a few bucks.

If you want to do it youself get someone to help you. Don't just "wrap him in a blanket" but use a towel and wrap him like a bunny burrito. It must be snug enough to keep his legs from kicking. While wrapped snug, let out one paw out at a time for trimming by your helper.
