Wash hair with stitches?

I got a sample of my scalp taken out today and they had to stitch my head. i have no idea how many stitches but i cant imagine its more than like 2 but its on the top of my scalp and i have long hair that if i dont wash daily will turn extremely greasy. How would i go about washing it? i figured id wash gently and try to avoid that direct area.

I went through the same thing, but I had 9 staples. They told me to wash around the area and to try to avoid it. They also gave me this jelly like ointment to put over it also. This helped avoid the water, but other than that I had help and washed it in the sink.
