Just bought a new computer and it came with a free software but I don't want to use it.. Since most that come free from stores don't do the job right. I need a good one but what should I get? Is it free downloadable and efficient?

What OS and version is your computer using? If it is running Windows 10, then just use the already paid for as a part of Win 10, built-in, Windows Defender. Do NOT install anything else!

You forgot to state what your operating system is
If it's Win 10 it comes with Windows Defender and that's all you need
If it's Win 7 you can install the free, but very good, Security Essentials
If you want to buy something, then Kaspersky is very good
