Find an equation for the parabola which fits the given criteria?

Vertex (0, 0), focus (0, 3)

the axis of symmetry is x = 0 [as both the vertex and the focus is always on it and for vertical parabola it is x = h ] so we are dealing with a vertical parabola. 4p(y − k) = (x − h)² where the vertex is at (h,k) and the focus (for a vertical parabola) is at (h,k+p) [note the directrix (of a vertical parabola) is at y = k − p ]

4*3(y − 0) = (x − 0)²
∴ 12y = x²
∴ y = (1/12)x²

open right (y-0)^2=4c(x-0)
y^2=4(3)(x)=12x
