I think my parents mixed up me and my twin sister when we were little?

My name is Lexi and my sisters name is Bella. When we were born, my parents would tell us apart because of our ear shapes. Mine were pointier, and my sisters were rounder. My parents then named the twin with the rounder ears Bella, and the one with the pointier ears (me) Lexi. You could see our hospital bracelets on us with our names on them in the picture.

Then we had family photos taken a few weeks later, and me and my sister were wearing shirts with our names on it. The twin with the pointier ears (which was supposed to be me) had a shirt that says Bella. Then the twin with the rounder ears (which was supposed to be my sister) had a shirt that says Lexi.

Now it's 2017, we're 14 years old, and my ears are round and my sisters are pointy. That clearly shows our parents mixed us up since our ears are different from when we were born. I know we didnt change ear shapes because in all of our pictures, one of us always had pointy ears and the other had round.

I dont know what to think, I'm kind of mad and shocked that I'm not really who I am. I mean, shouldn't I be Bella? This is all so frustrating and I'm sorry if you guys are confused too. Please help me on what I should do.

I have three thoughts on this.
1) Talk to your parents. Let them be part of this conversation, to help you sort this out. Perhaps they figured this out, as well, but stayed put?
2) The fact that BOTH - not just one - mistook your identities makes it much rarer.  Kinda like someone comes up to your boyfriend and says, "Sam?" and he said, "No, sorry, I'm Tommy." but later another person comes up and says, "Hi, Sam! Long time no see!" even though they've admittedly not seen him in a while, and the other was trying to recognize him, it's much more probable that there's a chance he's really who THEY say he is! With this in mind, you can ask yourself what the chances are of BOTH of them mistaking their kids.
3) On the other hand, twins are hard! They do look much alike, it's more stressful, etc. Maybe they truly screwed up and mixed up your names! If so, you have to ask yourself if this really matters. I was born Robin, my name was changed to Jen, but I often go by Jodie online! Admittedly, I do keep them all separate, so if I'm talking with birth family, I feel like I'm Robin! But it only makes a difference because I MADE it a difference. This doesn't have to be you, ya know? But only you can determine how much this difference will make. You could always go by a nickname (related to the mix-up!), and try a "go" at that!  According to namecombiner.com, the following are name mixers beginning with Lexi: lela, lexa, lella, lexla, lbella, lexila, lexlla, lebella, lexella, lexilla, lexbella
Or you could begin with Bella, but that might be too uncomfortable to everyone: beli, bexi, belli, belxi, blexi, belexi, bellxi, bellaxi, bellexi

Your name is Bella and you sisters name is Lexi

A forensic hand or foot print could verify that you're Bella. Both of you have hand/foot prints in your birth certificates. You can have your hand/foot print compared to your birth certificate to see what your real name is. Ears don't lie, either. I think that your real name is BELLA.

i wouldnt worry about it, youre still you, ask your sister to trade names with you if you think youre her, im a twin myself, wonder if my parents mixed me and my sister up now that you mentioned it

its just a name and doesn't change who you really are inside, names are things parents choose and don't make you who you are
