depends on their internal methods, which you don't know.

some employers won't look at any applications for a position until N days have passed or they have at least Y apps to view ;... that way they don't jump for the first good looking candidate and have regrets when a better looking one shows up the next day.

might depend on position, too. Hospitals usually have lots of low skilled people so a hiring error is less costly there. the higher the skills wanted, the more time they might take -- looking for that elusive great person.

2-4 WEEKS. SOMETIMES LONGER. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE APPLYING FOR THE POSITION??? THEY WILL TAKE IN DOZENS OF APPLICATIONS, NARROW IT DOWN, THEN NARROW IT DOWN ONCE AGAIN. THEN SELECT THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR THE JOB. BE PATIENT. THERE IS A LOT OF COMPETITION OUT THEE, ND THEY LOOK FOR SOMEONE WITH THE MOST WORK EXPERIENCE. HOSPITALS TAKE TIME WHEN THEY DO THEIR HIRING. BE PATIENT. HOWEVER, I WOULD LOOK FOR ANOTHER JOB, WHILE YOU ARE WAITING TO HERE FROM THESE PEOPLE.

More than 3 days.
Give it at least 3 weeks.
Background checks take time!
