Saw on the news that there
was a shooting near the Notre
Dame Cathedral.
If that did happen, it's possible
it's another act of terrorism.
Could also be a local crime.
Given the current political
climate, could things go out
of control soon?

No, these are terror attacks, not war attacks. The cyber attack on the U.S. by Russia is more of a 'war act'. The attack at the Cathedral is real, but was done on a police officer by a person with a hammer. The attacker was shot by police, not the same as a terrorist shooting.

Maybe, but not the way you're thinking. Such events may finally wake up the more tolerant nations to the threat posed by a few thousand towel heads and their wannabe progeny that have been taken in and turned against their host nations. This 'world war' will be the world at war with the towel heads. No pack of trumped up goat shaggers can stand against the might of the entire free world when it finally comes down on them.
The problem is, is this sufficient to shake nations like France, Great Britain and Germany out of their pacifist stupor.
