Which car would you choose as a first car to buy if you’re a first time car buyer: Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Mazda 6, or Chevrolet Equinox?

Toyota Camry or Corolla 4cyl

I've owned two Toyotas so far and they've restored my faith in reliability.

Hondas get stolen too much for me to consider. I had a 2001 Accord and it was the little things like the Heater controller, rear brake calipers, sliding window that went out. Honda is not as good as Toyota with transmissions either, but the transmission problems seem limited to mostly v6 models made in the 2000's.

I might consider a Honda again because they do drive really well and if you're handy you can fix the shortcomings.

Worst car I ever had was a Mazda and the only thing Chevy is good with is their full sized trucks. I would rather take the bus than drive a Mazda.

Honda Accord (Sports), great on MPG (around 32 on the highway) and thrilling as you can switch to sports mode.
