How is it possible for a vegetarian who sometimes eats fish also to be fat?
I know such a woman. And from what I can tell, it's not from booze or sweets either.

Lot's of carbs. Beware the starchy vegetable. (Potatoes, squash, corn) Also, being a vegetarian means you have to actually eat vegetables. Some people are just "not-meat-atarains". You can't live off bars and cookies and supplements. Also, consider how long they've been a vegetarian.

bread is carbs, cereal is carbs, so if this person is not VEGAN they can be eating lots of things that help fatten them up, protein is not a big addition to fat, just some animal fats might add fat

It's sweets...that she doesn't know that she is eating.
Just like you.
Either sugar, HFCS, honey, nectar or juice is added to 90% of processed foods.
These things all contain too much fructose, which, ironically, is processed by the liver almost the same as alcohol
Yes, that can of Coke or Pepsi is as bad for you as a beer. At least the beer gives you a buzz!
Other things high in fructose are molasses, maple syrup, white rice and white flour products (most white breads, crackers and pastas).
This is why you and the rest of the world is fat, even if only viscerally.
DNA determines WHEN someone who eats these gets fat, not if.
So, hold your judgement for when you are actually healthy yourself and keep it to yourself.
How does it feel to be judged by your superior?

What does vegetarian have to do with being in shape? Just because a person stays away from most animal products doesn't mean they eat healthy. Greasy *** potatoes chips are vegetarian, greasy *** french fries are vegetarian, animal free glazed donuts are vegetarian, fried soy meat is vegetarian. There's all kinds of unhealthy vegetarian foods. Vegetarians are actually more prone to being fat seeing that the bulk majority of their diet comes from carbs and fats.

Absolutely. Fitness comes in thousands of shapes and sizes. The healthiest person I know is my best friend. She's a marathon runner with the most whole and pure diet I have ever seen anybody eat. But she's also 220 pounds because of a hormonal disorder that she was born with. Despite her weight, her blood pressure etc. is perfect and doctors say that she is one of their healthiest patients. Appearances so rarely ever reveal the whole story and many times have nothing to do with diet and exercise.
