I say 40% instead of 25% so as to ensure we lose no jobs in steel. No one will buy any American steel with 40%. Is there any reason for Canada not to do this?

Trump thinks he can do things and have everyone just go along because he's Trump. I wouldn't blame the other countries for any decision they make.

The US suffers in its steel because of products come in from China and Brazil, both countries who learned our steel processing. Canad and they US have mutual benefits in reducing tariffs.

I think it's time that Canada looked at other trading partners and other world markets. I don't understand why Trump thinks that other countries wouldn't retaliate and impose tariffs on US goods. That's just common sense. European giant Electrolux has put a 250 million dollar investment in the USA on hold. Europe are talking about tariffs on US made motorcycles, bourbon and US made blue jeans. China could put tariffs on US beef and North American made cars. Canada hasn't stated what steps they will take, but this could end up being a cluster f^ck for everyone, including the USA.
