If you will be using the Ford for extensive travel for your employment the Edge would be far superior as far as ride comfort.

I'd rather have the  more comfortable Edge than an Escape with lots of useless gizmos.

Hi so only the car dealer can advise what equipment it comes with.

Escape, loaded.  Check if you can disable the Start/Stop function.  You might not like that feature.
