I got scammed into buying 6 gift cards?

I saw a charge on my Bank account that was Unknown. So I called up fake number I didn’t know was fake it was a guy wanting to be from Apple he told me in order to get rid of the charge I have to get three iTunes gift cards for $100 and three Google server cards for $500 so in total less than $1800 dollars I disputed it with my bank and they gave me $1800 temporary credit when my claim be denied? I know I made the purchase but I told the bank that I didn’t because I thought I would get the fraud charges bathroom I’ll co I know I made the purchase but I told the bank that I didn’t because I thought I would get the fraud charges removed from my account. So will I be able to keep the credit based on other people‘s experiences I’m curious to know

You authorized those purchases...period. The fraud was on the back end, where you were planning to give them to some random person...but had nothing to do with the initial transaction.

Let me put this another way. You walk into your bank and take out some cash. Then, once you are outside, someone tells you to give them money for something that turns out to be a scam...is your bank responsible?

The credit card company will investigate and may suspend or terminate your account with them. You lied...do you like to do business with people who lie to you???

IMHO you will not be able to keep the credit. You DID authorize it. Why you fell for such an obvious scam is another thing entirely.

Not if you got the gift cards.

Don't be surprised if they close your account and you can't open one anywhere else.

very unlikely. yes you were scammed but that's not the bank's fault
