Does Federal tax exemption take place before State tax exemption or can it be the other way around?
I'm starting a non-profit and I'm getting my guidance mainly from websites at the moment so I'm a little confused on some things but can state tax exemption be applied for before federal? In my mind, it makes more sense to make my way up rather than down so I want to do state before federal but I'm not totally sure if that possible. Please let me know, thanks
