found maggots in Colgate toothpaste. I check the expiration and it expired 4 months ago. I bought it last week from Walgreens. Can I sue?

No, because that didn't happen.

Assuming this it true, you could sue Colgate, or whoever makes Colgate brand products.
You have ZERO case against Walgreens.
Note: Maggots wouldn't SURVIVE anywhere near long enough to be found in expired toothpaste.

You can sue, but winning would be difficult because the expiration date was not hidden from you before you made the purchase and other than the value of the purchase price, you were not damaged. Return the tube to walgreens with your receipt and get your money back.

Yes, you can sue. Unless there were some other damages, you will be awarded the cost of the toothpaste. Or, you could save a couple hundred dollars in court costs and just return it to the store.

Massive lawsuits are rare and usually involve some mitigating circumstance.
