Why aren’t there Waffle Houses in the north?

I went to one on in South Carolina on a roadtrip and it was so good! The waffles weren’t like belgian waffles, they were thinner and tasted better. Why don’t they have these up north (like Connecticut, where I’m from)?

Because the North has Real diners, not usually found in the South. A Waffle House probably can't survive the competition.
Ever notice that you can't get Grits north of the Mason-Dixon line either?

This is the reason people retire and move south. lack of waffle houses

Because waffles are the devil's pancake and true Christians dine at IHOP.

It's a regional chain in the south and southwest. The key word being, "regional."
