If reality is an illusion or imagined, and I'm living in it, does it stand to reason that imagination is real since I can interact with it?

It's semantics. When someone uses these words, they mean that reality is based on perception. And since perception rarely includes ALL components of reality, it is an illusion that you understand it. Reality does exist, imagination is just a concept of limited perception (and interpretation) of reality.

The problem is it is real ONLY for YOU, not anyone else. Truth IS subjective. Your truth can be fatal for me and vice versa.
