Travel bundle same price but with more days?

I'm a little confused I've never traveled before and am thinking bout going to japan but the thing is I put a 5 day trip and the cost is $1,300 and then a 10 day trip is also about the same price? Using expedia just doesn't make sense how you can do 5 days more for samw price I get hotel prices vary but that much?
Also this would be the first time me traveling anything I should know? Working on getting passport on Wednesday

Yes, hotel prices can vary quite a bit from one day to the next. But I find that airline tickets can have a larger price variation on your trip.
I could search for a bundled trip to Japan departing on a Wednesday night and then do another search for the same trip departing on a Thursday morning and the price difference is over $1200.
