Question about the movie "Boyz N The Hood"?

Why did Brenda lash out her anger at Doughboy over the death of her other son Ricky when Doughboy wasn't the one who killed Ricky? Why couldn't it be an opportunity for Brenda and Doughboy to be closer to each other and for them to be more appreciative of each other?

She felt he was the reason Ricky got killed. Ricky has it going well in his life with a football career while doughboy was just a typical thug

anger is one of the 5 stages of grief
when someone loses a loved one, they will go through the 5 stages. typically they will experience the 5 stages in order, but some don't
the stages are
1. Denial- the person will say something along the line of "No this cant be true" or "this must be a bad dream"
2. Anger- when someone blames themselves or others for the loss (as Brenda did to Doughboy)
3. Bargaining- at this stage people will pray to god and say that they will do anything to get their loved one back
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

Brenda loved Ricky's daddy. So Rick was always her favorite child. She never cared for Dough boy. Was always treating him crappy.
