Am I allowed to give my clients small Christmas presents?
I work as domiciliary carer and with christmas coming up I wanted to buy them a few small gifts each (chocolates, a mug and a book) I was just wondering if this is okay?

I don't see why it wouldn't be okay, but better check with your employer to be sure.

In the future, don't wait til the last minute to give Christmas gifts. Some recipients might feel stressed bc they then feel that they have to rush to buy and then wrap a gift for you. This is why I get gifts ready by the first week of December to avoid the stress of shopping/giving when it's almost Christmas day. The small gifts you mentioned is fine though you have to be careful about books (ppl can be offended by discussions of politics, for example). Coffee table books about dogs, cats and horses would be ok if the ppl are interested in these. One gift per person would be fine (3 gifts might make them feel uncomfortable). I used to give gifts to everyone and unfortunately, not everyone was happy as a result. But you have to decide for yourself what u want to do. Merry Christmas!

Yes it's fine. You can't give them anything that can be converted to cash, like gift cards, etc.
