The dmv wants to look at my car?

The dmv wants to loook at my car in California? I know there looking for the vin but what other stuff are they looking for? I gutted the whole in side of the car the car but left the dash in place with the vin still attached. Is it a red flag if I have a roll cage in the car with out the door bars? Or does it matter about the cage

Then outside of the car looks stock then inside is gutted. I have no cage in it right now but has a date with the cage shop in 2wks. All of my lights work all the safety stuff but the airbags are pulled out and the dash is halfway there just the part with the vin is there

They are going to look to see if you have all the state required items for driving on the roads. Head lights, horn, signals, tail lights, brake lights, turn lights, wipers, etc. Inside they will look for seat belts. If you pulled out the airbags you might have problems.

Have fun with that.

Then you'd best let them. By the sound of things, it will be an interesting inspection.

A car with the same VIN likely got registered. They are trying to find out why. Or your car has been reported as stolen.

Vin on the motor, transmission and frame. If you built it legal, it's legal. That you say California, says it's from elsewhere, what did you expect?
