I can remember all the way back to my first birthday! Is this normal?

My earliest memory is from my first birthday party...

We were in the kitchen of my grandma's house, I'd gotten bored and had gone around to the other side of the kitchen (where the food was being cooked) and managed to convince my grandma to hand me the little white cake up on the counter.
I know now that it was just a candle, but back then all I knew was that it looked like a cake, which naturally to me meant it must be a cake.
So in my mouth it went.
25 years later and I still remember the taste of the wax.

I also remember (although I'm not sure how old I was at the time, somewhere around 2, I think) sitting inside a moving stroller.
We were on a sidewalk.
I remember getting bored (again) and asking whoever was pushing the stroller to to let me out so I could walk, but the voice (it was mom's voice)said no, and that it wasn't safe.
I wasn't very happy with her about that.

People have vivid memories even very early. It's amazing, and NOT unusual.
